The Yeshiva students went this week on a Chanukah tour.
The tour was in the footsteps of the Hasmoneans.
They visited the Umm al-Umdan Beit Knesset, the oldest synagogue in the world located in the southern neighborhood of the city of Modi'in, which was active during the time of the Temple.
At the entrance to the synagogue there is a ritual bath that has been completely exposed,
as in the coming to the Temple, men immersed before entering the Synangogue.
Gilad Shlush, one of the students, guided andexplained the site. And then they held Mincha in the synagogue.
In the sense that today's Hasmonean prayers connect to the Hasmonean heroes' prayers of the past, and bridge the gap of two thousand years.
